Architect's Design Narratives:

The Casablanca apartment development
was conceived as a residential oasis within Jakarta's dense urban
center. This concept was eventually realized and now provides
residents with a generously proportioned series of western-style
apartments set amongst beautifully landscaped pools and lagoons.
This vision of a residential oasis, coupled with the projects
extremely convenient location within the city's Golden Triangle,
creates a development unmatched within the upper-middle income
market the development has targeted.
The two towers are carefully sited to maximize usable ground
space, allowing for the creation of extensively landscaped pools
and gardens. The towers are linked at grade level by a glass-enclosed
gallery that overlooks waterfalls, fountains, reflecting pools,
and a swimming pool with its own sand beach. The towers reflect
the Art Deco history of Indonesian architecture that was prevalent
earlier this century by the use of carefully detailed pre-cast
concrete cladding that reflect the moderne style of that period.
The façade and window proportions also emphasize the vertical
proportions of the tower, and detailing and color selection was
also carefully selected to reflect this period of Jakarta's past,
but in a more updated interpretation. The entire complex was
constructed in one phase and completed in 1996, and immediately
became one of the most popular residential developments in the
city. |
